Meet four researchers who share with you their strategies on how they manage their career and family life and get an overview of the legal ramifications of limited work contracts and parental leave. The english-language event hosted by the Clusters of Excellence CliSAP and CUI, the Collaborative Research Center Particles, Strings and the Early Universe (SFB 676), the Faculty for Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Science (MIN), and the Family Office of Universität Hamburg takes place 22. 06.2017, 9:00-11:00am (DKRZ, room 034, Bundesstrasse 45a, 20146 Hamburg).
Balancing an academic career with family life can be daunting. With the event “Scientific Career and Parenthood” the Clusters of Excellence CliSAP and CUI, the Collaborative Research Center Particles, Strings and the Early Universe (SFB 676), the Faculty for Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences, and the Family Office of Universität Hamburg wish to pick up on this topic and provide an overview of the legal ramifications of limited work contracts (under the WissZeitVG) and their effects on e.g. claiming parental leave.
In the following panel discussion we would like to introduce you to four researchers and invite you to share with them their strategies on how they manage their career and family life, what support they receive and which obstacles they face. Subsequently you will have the chance for questions and further exchange.
