Quality circle and quality conferences
Quality circle
Each quality circle covers an individual degree program or a group of related degree programs. The quality circles comprise teachers and students of one or more subjects and staff of the various offices for academic affairs (or a representative of the Center for Continuing Education (ZfW) in the case of continuing education programs). The office of the dean appoints the members of the quality circles.
Quality conferences
The quality circles hold annual quality conferences to provide a regular platform for discussion about the state of the degree programs and the necessity of further development.
The Gemeinsamer Ausschuss Lehrerbildung (GALB), a joint teacher training committee for the teacher training degrees, organizes the quality conferences for the Hamburg teacher training degrees. It is composed of representatives from all status groups and from all participating universities and faculties.
Underlying data
The personal experiences and ideas of the quality circle members are supplemented by various data to establish a basis on which to advance the quality of the degree programs.
This includes:
- information on capacity, application, admission, course of study, and academic success from the Key Figures and University Statistics Team as represented in the degree program statistics issued for the University administration, and
- the feedback from current students and graduates systematically collected by the Team Evaluation via written surveys.
