Quality assurance system
The University of Hamburg has a long tradition of quality assurance and development in studies and teaching. Our quality assurance system initiates a continual improvement process that is driven and fostered primarily by the experience of internal and external evaluators: teachers, students, staff of the various offices for academic affairs, and external reviewers.

The quality assurance system is based on the core processes in studies and teaching:
The advisory committee on quality advises the Executive University Board of the University of Hamburg on the development of its quality assurance processes in studies and teaching. It discusses and assesses feedback, evaluations, and opportunities for advancing the quality management system.
The advisory committee on quality is chaired by the vice president for studies and teaching and comprises:
- the vice deans for academic affairs from all faculties,
- students from all faculties,
- representatives from the head offices for academic affairs of all faculties,
and 1 representative each from the following:
