Course registration deadlines

Every semester students at Universität Hamburg must register in the Studies Information Network StiNE for the courses they want to take. Current registration periods are listed in STiNE.

Apply for academic leave:

• by 31 January for a summer semester, or
• by 30 June for a winter semester.

Apply for part-time study:

• by 31 January for a summer semester, or
• by 30 June for a winter semester.

Re-enrollment:

• by paying mandatory fees and contributions punctually, that is:
• by 1 April for a summer semester, or
• by 1 October for a winter semester.

Please note:

Failing to observe re-enrollment deadlines results in ex-matriculation.
If students do not want to drop out of their program but have missed the re-enrollment deadline, they can enroll belatedly. This, however, involves a late fee.

Pay fees and contributions:

• when you re-register, that is
• by 1 April for a summer semester, or
• by 1 October for a winter semester.

Withdraw from the University:

• No deadlines.
