Reflect - Postdocs

After successfully completing your doctorate, you decided to take another step towards an academic career. In addition to the opportunity for further professional qualification, employment as a postdoctoral researcher often allows you to gain preliminary leadership experience and to work more independently. The question nonetheless remains of your future career path:

Do you want to remain in academia or pursue a different path?

To answer this question, it is worth taking a step back and reflecting on your career to date and your future. You can ask yourself the following questions:

• What do I want? What am I passionate about?
• What do I particularly enjoy in my daily work?
• What is important to me in future jobs?
• What skills can I contribute to future positions?
