Communication and Collaboration
Many teaching and learning scenarios involve active collaboration between students and with the instructor. At the University of Hamburg (UHH), various tools can be used for this purpose; some are hosted by the Regional Computing Center (RRZ), and others are centrally funded and approved for data protection. Here is an overview of the tools.
Tools of the Learning Management Systems
The Learning Management Systems already offer tools that enable collaborative scenarios and synchronous communication. More complex tools are often standalone services and are integrated into the Learning Management System via an interface (indicated with [e] in the list).
Web Meetings
In web meetings, participants can communicate simultaneously (synchronously) via audio, video, and chat while viewing content. This mode facilitates discursive exchanges, ranging from seminar-sized discussions to large online lectures.
Standalone Applications
For specific tasks, some tools offer special collaboration features. These are the tools that are hosted at the University of Hamburg (UHH), centrally funded, and verified for data protection compliance.
