Declaration of Waiver

If, after accepting an offer to study at the University of Hamburg, you would like to waive your claim, please sign and send the declaration of waiver as soon as possible. You do not need to provide reasons for the waiver

Deadlines

You may waive your place until September 30 (enrollment for winter semester) respectively March 31 (enrollment for summer semester). After the start of the semester, it is only possible to waive your place if the semester contribution has not yet been paid.

Refund of semester contribution

If you have already paid the semester contribution at the time of waiver, it can be refunded upon receipt of the waiver declaration by September 30 or March 31 minus an administrative fee of €50.00.

After September 30 or March 31 no refund of the semester contribution is possible!

In this case, you may apply for de-enrollment and get a refund of the part of the contribution used for the semester ticket by HVV. Please find more information about this option on the page about de-enrollment linked to above.
