#UHHhilftstart – Study Preparation
Are you a Refugee, and live in Hamburg or the surrounding areas and would like to study? You don't know exactly which course of study is right for you? Have you already studied in another country and would now like to continue your studies in Germany? Do you need support in applying for a study place?
Then you are in the right place at our study preparation! #UHHhilft supports refugees interested in studying, applying to and finding their way to the university.
#UHHhilftstart takes place in the summer semester from April to September and in the winter semester from October to March. Registration is possible from 01.02.-15.03. and from 01.08. - 15.09. During this time, you will meet weekly with our student tutors in a group/class that suits your study wishes:

Subject class WiSo/Bwl: Economics courses such as business administration, economics, social economics and social science courses (such as sociology and political science)

Subject class MIN: Natural science courses such as mathematics, computer science, nanosciences, physics, chemistry, biology and also engineering

Medical Class: Human medicine and dentistry

Subject class for Other study choices: Courses of study in humanities, education and movement/sports sciences and psychology, architecture
In your specialist class, you will receive support in finding the right course of study and applying for a study place. If you have individual questions, your specialist class tutors will support you during the individual/personal consultation hours.
In addition, you have the opportunity to get a more detailed insight into the studies. Together with your specialist class, you can attend individual lectures and then have discussions about them.
For a successful application to the University, you can attend preparatory courses for German exams at #UHHhilftstart and receive support in the preparation of applications, together with writing of motivation and cover letters.
In addition, the buddy program and the free Unisport offer gives you the opportunity to make social contacts at the university before the start of your studies.
