Core facilities
The platforms comprises two central Core Facilities:
The Core Facility Mass Spectrometry at the Department of Chemistry (MIN Faculty) and the Core Facility Mass spectrometric Proteomics at the UKE.
Additional equipment is available in the Departments of Biology and Chemistry for various applications.
Core Facility Mass Spectrometry
Specialized in: small molecules
The Central Mass Spectrometry Department in the Department of Chemistry offers users services in the field of small molecules in particular, but polymers, intact proteins or nanoclusters can often also be measured successfully. Furthermore, the Core Facility has an instrument for mass spectrometric quantification of analytes from complex mixtures.
GC-MS, LC-ESI-TOF and -QTOF, and an LC-ESI-QTRAP mass spectrometer are available in the department.
More information about the MS Core Facility in the Department of Chemistry can be found on their website.

Core Facility Mass Spectrometric Proteomics at the UKE
Specialized in: analysis of proteins and proteomes
The Core Facility Mass Spectrometric Proteomics is specialized in the analysis of proteins and proteomes. It is possible to identify single proteins, e.g. from gel bands, as well as to implement proteome analytical projects by arrangement. In the field of proteome analytics different methods can be used for the quantification of proteins. We will be glad to advise you which of the available techniques is the right one for your project.
In addition to the nanoLC-ESI-Orbitrap mass spectrometers for protein and proteome analysis, there is also a MALDI mass spectrometer for mass spectrometric imaging in the Core Facility.
More information about the Core Facility Mass Spectrometric Proteomics can be found at the website of the Core Facility Mass Spectrometric Proteomics.
