As a university of excellence, Universität Hamburg possesses a variety of research infrastructures that enable cutting-edge research at the highest level of technology.

The establishment of technology platforms systematizes the acquisition, use and maintenance of large-scale equipment. In doing so, the platforms professionally operate state-of-the-art equipment, train researchers, and support them in the planning, execution, and analysis of their experiments. The platforms provide researchers at all career stages with access to state-of-the-art methods. The platforms thus create an inclusive research environment for excellent individual and collaborative research, and promote the cross-disciplinary, interdisciplinary and synergistic use of technologies. This environment enables continuous development of novel methods and creates new research approaches.

The platform coordinators structure the acquisition and use of technologies and serve as focal points for researchers interested in using the technology platform. They provide intensive support to researchers so that they can achieve their scientific goals.
