Research Assistants for Teaching (WiMiLe)
Work location:
Department of Languages, Literature and Media I
What motivates you in your teaching work at Universität Hamburg?
I like to teach. I realized that at the very beginning of my academic career. Teaching at a university allows me to immediately impart to others what is happening in research. Furthermore, I find my field at the exciting and highly relevant junction with society beyond academia. My focus is German as a second or foreign language, and an important target group is teacher training students, especially for primary schools. The University and we teachers have a great responsibility and, at the same time, we can have a huge effect.
What is special about the work at Universität Hamburg?
You can see in many places that the University is undergoing great change. To my mind, new career prospects and digitalization initiatives point in the right direction, even if there is still quite a way to. And in my everyday work, I am always delighted by the friendly and appreciative contact in our institute.
