Professor of Scientific and Innovation Research

By establishing the Professor of Science Studies and Innovation Research, the University seeks to promote understanding of innovation processes at the junction of society and science. In November 2020, Prof. Dr. Sabine Maasen was appointed to the professorship. Maasen takes a sociologist’s approach to the relationship between science and society.

Professor of Scientific and Innovation Research Appointed

The sociologist Prof. Dr. Sabine Maasen is switching to Universität Hamburg for a professorship newly created within the context of the Excellence Strategy of the Federal and State Governments. She will serve as the academic director of the Knowledge Exchange Agency that is currently being set up.
