We are funded!
We are young people receiving the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship at the University of Hamburg
Rebecca Braun
Rebecca Braun is a fourth-semester medical student. In her free time, she sings in the UKE students’ choir and plays an active role in her church.
“The Deutschlandstipendium is an incredible opportunity for me. From day one, I have been meeting lots of new people, and I really appreciate being able to make friends with other motivated students from all sorts of programs and countries.”

Dascha Hloskovsky
Dascha Hloskovsky has Ukrainian roots. She is in her fourth semester studying dentistry. Since the start of the war, volunteering with refugees has been particularly close to her heart. She teaches German, provides translations, offers advice and serves as an all-round port of call for people with questions or problems.
“Thanks to the Deutschlandstipendium, I have fewer financial worries during my studies of dentistry. I am also happy to see my work acknowledged and appreciated while being part of an inspiring network.”
(Dascha Hloskovsky, Deutschlandstipendium recipient, 2024)
Marie Rauschenberger
Marie Rauschenberger is in the third semester of her history degree. Her enthusiasm for the subject extends beyond her studies: She also writes articles for the Wolfsburg Institute for Contemporary History and Urban Presentation, which are published in its in-house newspaper.
“The opportunity afforded to me by the Deutschlandstipendium is unique in many ways. Thanks to the financial support, I can pursue my passions in my free time, and the connections I have made with other recipients and my sponsor are just as valuable, if not more so. These contacts will last long beyond my funding period.”
(Marie Rauschenberger, Deutschlandstipendium recipient, 2024)
Ali Alwattar
Ali Alwattar is a sixth-semester medical student. Besides his studies, he volunteers as an interpreter for refugees, whom he accompanies to medical appointments. He is also a member of Praxis ohne Grenzen, helping out wherever he is needed.
“I am deeply honored to receive the Deutschlandstipendium, which has been a great source of motivation. It allows me to expand my network and meet other motivated individuals. I am especially impressed by the accompanying program, which has granted me valuable insights. A strong network opens many doors.”
