For scholarship holders
Register for the accompanying events program
Beyond the monthly financial support, the accompanying program is the second key component of the Deutschlandstipendium at the University of Hamburg. Each semester, we organize a variety of events with sponsors and recipients, offering a great opportunity for everyone to network. It’s a clear win-win for all participants! The annual award ceremony, held in February, is the highlight of each year, as new recipients are formally welcomed into the scholarship program.
Deutschlandstipendium recipients and sponsors at the University of Hamburg can register for the accompanying program for Winter Semester 2024/25 from autumn 2024. |
Further details on events, the award ceremony, and past highlights can be found on our events page.
Networking and engagement through events—Praxis ohne Grenzen
Each semester, the Deutschlandstipendium team organizes a range of events for sponsors and scholarship recipients to connect and exchange ideas. It was during one such event that Ali Alwattar, medical student and Deutschlandstipendium recipient, got to meet other scholarship holders involved in the Praxis ohne Grenzen project. Inspired by their dedication and stories, Ali felt motivated to contribute to the initiative. He now helps with patient management, directing individuals to waiting rooms based on their needs and accompanying them to medical appointments. Occasionally, he also assists during examinations and offers interpreting services.
Praxis ohne Grenzen is dedicated to providing medical care to people without health insurance. Through his involvement, Ali experienced firsthand how vital and fulfilling this work can be: “It is truly inspiring how the Deutschlandstipendium allows us not only to pursue our academic goals but also take on social responsibility and make a positive impact on our community. I am grateful for the experiences and connections I have made through this scholarship, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to projects like this.”
