Forms to upload or submit if your Erasmus+ application is successful
Applicants must use the forms provided by the Department of International Affairs. Some partner universities may not use the current versions with the required DAAD data.
Before your Stay
- Enrollment at the University of Hamburg and, where required, the application for a room in a student dormitory commences after your application has been received by the University of Hamburg.
- Your enrollment certificate at your home university and at the University of Hamburg covering the period of your stay abroad has to be uploaded to the database.
- The Learning Agreements for Studies Part I: Before the Mobility must be signed by all 3 parties and uploaded in full to the database before you begin your period abroad. Follow the Learning Agreement for Studies guide (PDF) when completing the Learning Agreement for Studies.
Green Travel: If you undertake green travel (to a maximum of 4,000 km from host university), meaning you plan to use sustainable transportation (train, bus, car-share, bicycle, walking) for more than 50% of the journey, you can receive a one-off top-up of €50. If this takes more time, you can receive funding for up to 4 additional days. A query is part of your workflow. If green travel applies to you, print out the sworn declaration in your workflow, sign it, and then upload the signed document.
- Addition ‘Teures Reisen’: People who receive a Green Travel Top-Up also have the option of applying for a real cost subsidy for ‘Teures Reisen’. This can be applied for if the travel allowance according to the distance category does not cover at least 70% of the real travel costs for sustainable travel. In this case, participants can be reimbursed 80% of the real costs for sustainable travel.
- The application for ‘Teures Reisen’ must be justified by the applicant and approved by the national agency. This requires a lead time. We therefore ask you to send the necessary documents proving the increased travel costs to erasmus.coordination"AT"uni-hamburg.de at least one month before departure.
Top-ups for students with fewer opportunities: Find details on the various supplements in our Infosheet on additional funding (PDF)
If you are eligible for one of the following supplements, confirm this in your workflow. Then print out the sworn declaration in your workflow, sign it, and upload the signed document again. You will receive €250 per month in addition to your regular monthly grant. Even if you meet the criteria for several supplements, you will still receive this subsidy only once.

The grant amount is calculated on a daily basis, subject to approval from the National Agency for EU Higher Education Cooperation at the DAAD.
- Months counting 31 days are calculated on a basis of 30 days.
- A mobility grant is only available for a stay abroad of at least 2 months. If you abandon or prematurely terminate your stay abroad, you must repay any funding you have already received. In this situation, your subsidy may only be paid on presentation of a medical certificate, subject to approval by the DAAD.
- You may take part in the Erasmus+ program with a maximum duration of 12 months more than once. If you already spent an Erasmus or Erasmus+ period abroad, you may apply again to Erasmus+.
