The Institute of International Education’s Scholar Rescue Fund
The Institute of International Education’s Scholar Rescue Fund grants scholarships to researchers who face threats and persecution and finances their stay at partner universities all over the world. The goal of this funding line is to enable researchers to pursue their work in safety and continue to share their expertise.
Overview
- Target group: researchers at risk with a doctorate or comparable academic title (PhD, CSc)
- Objective: Supporting safe work and career conditions for researchers at risk
- Requirements: proof of risk
- Funding: grant of up to USD 25,000 (at least USD 25,000 cofinancing from the host institution)
- Funding period: 9–12 months; extensions for a second year can usually be applied for
