EDDA
Exchange on & Development of Data Acquisitions
Prof. Dr. Erika Garutti and Dr. Lene Kristian Bryngemark
MIN Faculty, Department of Physics, Institute for Experimental Physics
Co-applicant university: Lund University
Term: 2023-2025
Data-acquisition (DAQ) software and control software systems are a central part
of modern, computer-driven nuclear and particle physics experiments and ensure
that these complex set-ups reliably deliver scientific data. However, many
small-scale experiments and upstarting large-scale projects lack the resources
to develop state-of-the-art DAQ and control software from scratch.
The EDDA project aims to design a flexible software framework for experimental
physics communities based on available, industry-standard open source software.
The framework will allow for easy integration of novel devices and will be publicly
available as free software.
