Apply to our joint Groningen-Hamburg funding call: Universität Hamburg and the University of Groningen jointly support collaborative initiatives with the aim of leading to third-party funded research, large scale collaborations, jointly authored papers as well as joint teaching activities at the advanced level (master or doctoral education).

The proposal must be submitted in one document (PDF) including all attachments listed surname investigator UHH, surname investigator UG, project acronym.
The application deadline is 15 April.
All applications should be sent by email to the Universität Hamburg contact (contact details on this website) and Jodien Houwers j.d.houwers"AT"rug.nl (International Strategy and Relations, University of Groningen).
You are invited to apply for funding up to a maximum of EUR 8,000. The initiative will be jointly funded (EUR 4,000 each) by Universität Hamburg and the University of Groningen. Funding will be confirmed in May and should be spent within 18 months starting from 1 July.
Hamburg PIs are urged, if possible, to spend funding from Universität Hamburg in 2024.
Funding can generally be spent on the employment of student employees and assistants. As a rule, it is not possible to increase existing positions in the academic staff. Likewise, approved funds can in general not be taken to other universities (e.g. if the employment relationship changes).
A final report is expected at the end of the project.
Deadline for reporting: within three months after conclusion of the project/end of the funding period
A template for this report will be provided.
Proposals will be assessed in relation to the quality of the application and preference will be given to activities leading to tangible outcomes feeding into and enhancing research activities and/or educational activities. Key criteria for assessment include:
