Component B
Component B: international experience
We strongly encourage all participating students to improve their intercultural competence abroad, e.g. by doing an international semester. You can get credit for component B by studying abroad, e.g. with the ERASMUS program or direct exchange programs. We also accept international internships (minimum duration: two months) for the CIC. International students can get credit by studying at University of Hamburg.
Duration: your stay abroad must comprise at least two months.
Report: upon your return, you must submit a report (three pages min), i.e. a self-reflective analysis of your intercultural experience, substantiating theory with practical examples. (Please note: This is not the Erasmus report!) Please follow the guidelines for the report. Students
- at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences must submit their report plus written confirmation from their guest university or international internship host to the International Office of Business, Economics and Social Sciences.
- at the Faculty of Education must submit their report plus written confirmation from their guest university or international internship host addressed to Dr. Myriam Hummels at the International Office.
- at the Departments of Languages, Literature and Media I + II must submit their report plus written confirmation from their guest university or international internship host addressed to Christoph Fittschen at the Studies and Careers Center.
- at the Faculty of Law must submit their report plus written confirmation from their guest university or international internship host to the International Office of the Faculty of Law.
- at the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences must submit their report plus written confirmation from their guest university or international internship host to the International Office of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences.
- at University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf must submit their report plus written confirmation from their guest university or international internship host to the International Office of University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (Beate Schmidt).
- at GIGA German Institute of Global and Area Studies, at HafenCity University and other faculties must submit their report plus written confirmation from their guest university or international internship host to
