Cluster of Excellence Integrated Climate System Analysis and Prediction (CliSAP), partner in the KlimaCampus Hamburg
The Cluster of Excellence Integrated Climate System Analysis and Prediction (CliSAP) is concerned with the global climate system, global climate change, regional aspects of climate change as well as the issue of humans and the climate.
Some 250 scientists and technicians from Universität Hamburg, the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, the Institute for Coastal Research at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht, and the German Climate Computing Center (DKRZ) participate in the Cluster.
The German Research Foundation (DFG) has funded CliSAP since 2007 and will continue funding until 2017. Subsequent to this the cluster's research activities will be integrated into the Center for Earth System Research and Sustainability (CEN) at Universität Hamburg.
Chair of the Cluster is Prof. Dr. Detlef Stammer, director of the Center for Earth System Research and Sustainability (CEN) at Universität Hamburg.
CliSAP co-founded the KlimaCampus Hamburg, a network that brings together universities, research institutions and government authorities throughout greater Hamburg working on the issues of climate and climate change.
