The introduction of generative AI tools like ChatGPT has led to significant uncertainty in the higher education context. Many students do not use these tools at all, some are unsure about what is allowed, and others may already be using them intensively for their studies without being fully informed about their functionality and limitations. In this workshop for educators, we will go through the same workshop that we conduct with students. This gives educators the opportunity to learn about the basics of using generative AI in the context of their studies. Together, we will examine various tools regarding their functionality, possibilities, and limitations. The goal is for participants to experience how we train students in the use of generative AI—and to apply this knowledge in the second part (on June 18th) to their own teaching. A significant portion of the workshop is based on the exchange among participants, making it suitable for both beginners and more experienced users of generative AI.
• Introduction to generative AI tools in the higher education context
• Examination of the functionality, possibilities, and limitations of various tools
• Exchange and discussion among participants
• Goal: Gain clarity on the use of AI in teaching
In a second workshop session (Part B) on June 18th, you will have the opportunity to plan concrete implementations for your own teaching practice based on the basics. You can book only this workshop or directly add Part B. You can decide whether you would like to take Part B during the workshop or right after.
