At a time when sustainability is becoming increasingly important, the Startup Port format "Meet&Match" at the University of Hamburg has successfully brought Karen and Alberts together as a founding team. Their joint collaboration now focuses on the development of gloop.green, a B2B2C platform that rewards sustainable behavior and builds a community for environmentally conscious individuals and companies.
Meet&Match is a holistic format that brings together founders and those interested in starting a business without their own idea - first through a digital matching process on its own platform and then at the kick-off event, where the participants can get to know each other in person. If desired, the teams formed will then be accompanied through further phases up to the match - as it was the case with Karen and Alberts.
Karen says about the digital matching in advance: "I think that the matching in advance is more efficient in terms of a result than just pitching and networking. Otherwise you don't find each other in such a targeted way. But choosing someone based on a picture and a short description and to say: 'Okay, I find this person exciting and I would like to get to know them' is great."
Alberts, as someone who was previously interested in starting a business without having an idea of his own, finds: “Meet&Match offers the perfect opportunity to pursue your interest in setting up something of your own and trying out being an entrepreneur if you don’t have your own business idea that is appealing enough.”
