The lecture series includes 12 talks by managers from different Hamburg foundations. Among other things, they will discuss fundraising in foundations, legal conditions, and wealth as a pillar of philanthropy. The series starts on 26 October at 4 pm with Eva Nemala from the Körber-Stiftung and a glimpse into Hamburg’s foundation landscape. The dean of the Faculty of Business Administration (Hamburg Business School), Prof. Dr. Henrik Sattler, will open the series.
Experts from the NORDMETALL foundation, the Alfred Toepfer Stiftung FVS, the Hans Weisser Stiftung, the Joachim Herz Stiftung, the Claussen-Simon Foundation, the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius, and the BürgerStiftung Hamburg will also speak. The series also enjoys the support of the StiftungsBüro Hamburg.
Prof. Dr. Michel Clement, professor of business administration specializing in marketing and media at Universität Hamburg, oversees the series and says: “The foundation management lectures are a great opportunity for our students to learn more about the duties and types of foundations while also becoming familiar with a new and interesting field. I am looking forward to them!”
Rüdiger Ratsch-Heitmann, managing director of the BürgerStiftung Hamburg and co-initiator of the series, adds: “We would like to impart to the students and external guests central aspects of program and organizational development and will talk about the challenges involved in HR management and fundraising.”
Students who signed up can also get to know a few foundations better. “The students taking part in the lectures will take a day to visit the foundations and gain an on-site impression,” says Morten Jendryschik from the StiftungsBüro Hamburg.
The public lectures take place on Thursdays from 4 to 6 pm in Lecture Hall B in the Main Building of Universität Hamburg (Edmund-Siemers-Allee 1, 20146 Hamburg). Auditors from all faculties can sign up via STiNE. Anyone who passes the written examination can earn 6 ECTS in the elective area from the Faculty of Business Administration (Hamburg Business School).
If you are interested, you are welcome to attend and can do so without signing up. See the website of the professor of marketing and media for more information about the lecture series and individual topics.
