Individual faculties and teaching staff decide on how exactly to offer classes while taking the current pandemic situation into consideration. Individual courses may continue to be conducted digitally or in hybrid form provided that doing so makes sense for subject-specific or educational reasons. Proof of 3G (vaccinated, recovered, or tested) is no longer required to attend in-person classes. However, you are still required to wear masks in all University buildings and to observe the familiar distancing and hygiene regulations as far as possible. The University management is calling upon all University members to continue to observe these measures for the sake of a positive in-person semester for all concerned.
Univ.-Prof. Dr. Hauke Heekeren, president of Universität Hamburg: “Universities are places for personal encounters and exchange. Many of us have sorely missed this aspect of university life. Thus, we would like to once again hold as many in-person classes as possible at Universität Hamburg. We will continue to have an eye on the pandemic because the safety of all Universität Hamburg students, teachers, researchers, and staff remains our top priority.”
The regulations to contain the pandemic, which also apply equally to research at the University, public education, and events, are continually updated in line with the pandemic’s development and the requirements sent forth by the City of Hamburg. Students should read the current version of the University’s Corona FAQ.
