On 26 and 27 April 2024, students will have the opportunity to meet with company founders, managers, and prominent members of society. The ChefTreff is organized by Universität Hamburg alumni, and entry is free for students.
Harvard professor Jeffrey F. Rayport, Paralympic world champion Denise Schindler, and Beiersdorf CEO Vincent Warney are only some of the keynote speakers for this event. More than 50 influential people from business and society will attend the two days of the event, to talk with students, graduates, and young managers. Participants will gain insights into a range of corporate cultures and new career prospects.
In addition to the 60 keynote speakers, the program includes master classes, interviews, dinners, and parties, as well as an Expo featuring stands from over 30 companies and organizations, including Universität Hamburg. A matchmaking app will help participants create a personal attendance schedule and network easily with others.
Attendance free for students
Universität Hamburg is one of the main partners in the event. The summit will be opened by Professor Dr. Jetta Frost, vice president of Universität Hamburg for knowledge exchange, careers, and equal opportunity and professor of business administration with a focus on organization and management. “The event is aimed at students from all disciplines, and there is a contingent of free tickets reserved for people enrolled at Universität Hamburg,” explains business administration professor Prof. Dr. Michel Clement, who is managing the event for Universität Hamburg. The faculties have sent and email with the discount code to all students, but anyone who has not yet received it can contact the ChefTreff organization team(info"AT"cheftreff.de) from their student email address.
Founded by Universität Hamburg students
ChefTreff was founded in 2017 by Universität Hamburg students—at the time, involving 100 participants in a lecture hall. The event has since become a non-profit organization for talent and start-ups, bringing managers, academic institutions, and ambitious early career researchers from all over Germany. The summit is funded through EXIST, a support program of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action for university-based business start-ups.
