- Location: Santiago, Chile
- Subject options: all subjects offered at the university except for medicine and marine biology. There are also restrictions on admission to the following subjects: music, psychology, economics and public administration, art, architecture, sport, performing arts (see below). Exchange students are advised to take courses amounting to between 30 and 40 credit points. Spanish language courses are available; a fee is payable. Courses is English are limited; applicants planning on taking courses in English only are therefore advised to be flexible in their course planning.

Universidade de São Paulo
State university offering a broad range of subjects
- Location: São Paulo, Brazil
- Subject options: all subjects offered at the university. As the faculties are based at eight different sites, it is only possible to select subjects from one faculty. Places are limited at the School of Economics, Administration and Accounting, and the School of Architecture and Urbanism. To increase your chances of a successful application, we advise students interested in studying at these schools to select courses at the Ribeirão Preto or São Carlos Campus. For the School of Engineering, select courses with a minimum of 9 ECTS. For the Ribeirão Preto School of Economics, Administration and Accounting, select courses with a minimum of 16 ECTS. Exchange students on the São Paulo campus can attend Portuguese classes during the semester.
- Master's students can decide to do a research stay or to take courses at USP. A letter of invitation from the supervisor at USP is required to apply for a research stay. Master's students usually select courses from the final 2 years of their chosen 4–5-year bachelor's degree program (bacharelado) at USP. If you plan to transfer credits you should contact your academic office at Universität Hamburg as early as possible. Many degree programs also offer graduate courses (pós-graduação). To accelerate the admission process, we advise master's students to select at least one undergraduate course (bacharelado).
- School of Medicine: Only limited access is available; we advise students to contact the School of Medicine at São Paulo Campus(crint.mobilidade"AT"fm.usp.br) or at Ribeirão Preto Campus(luciajayme"AT"fmrp.usp.br).

- Language requirements: Note language requirements for visa purposes at the Department of Home Affairs. For the application: IELTS Academic in-person min. 6,5 (min. 6,0 in every band), TOEFL iBT min. 83, or DAAD language certificate ( C1 CEFR); Master of Research Program: only IELTS Academic in-person (min. 6,0 in every band), TOEFL iBT min. 83, PTE Academic test (min. 50 in every band) or Cambridge C1/C2 (min. 169 in every band). Some of the courses may have different language requirements (see below).
- Living costs: approx. 1500 – 3500 AUD per month. Note: You are typically required to provide proof of financing for the duration of the stay when applying for a visa, e.g. a bank account copy or proof of parental sponsorship. The partner universities or the visa-issuing authority will send you information on this prior to application.
- Semester dates: February–June, July–November
- Eligibility: bachelor's students may commence their stay as of their third semester, master's students as of their second semester
