Hilde Domin Programme
The DAAD's Hilde Domin Programme, funded by the Foreign Office, supports students and graduates who cannot continue with their studies or research in their home countries because they face threat or persecution. The goal of this funding line is to enable students and graduates in danger to begin or continue their studies or doctoral work in safety at a German university.
The scholarship is funded by the DAAD. To make an application, you must be nominated by a university or other German public-law institution. This page explains the required steps for a nomination for the Hilde Domin Programme from Universität Hamburg.
The funding is not bound to the nominating institution. The scholarships awarded might be used for studies or doctoral studies at another German university to which the applicant has been accepted.
