22 June 2016, by Abteilung Internationales
As part of the 30th anniversary of the twinning between Hamburg and Shanghai, this Public Lecture series provide insights into the diversity of cooperation-projects, which have been established within the longstanding partnership between Fudan University in Shanghai and Universität Hamburg.
Environmental problems are becoming more and more serious due to the rapid growth of urbanzation in China. Thus, the achievement of co-benefits from greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and the reduction ofair pollution are fundamental issues for the environmental science investigation .
The presentation firstly introduces the situation of energy consumption, GHG emisisons and air pollution in China’s cities, and continues to explain the priciples of the co-benefits approch. After addressing the barriers to achieve co-benefits, the presentation recommends a co-benefits approach which could be a soltuion to tackle climate chanage and air pollution for China’s cities in the context of urban sustainble development.
