New Direction in International Political Theory

Since the end of the Cold War, new theories have challenged established paradigms, offering a wide range of alternative perspectives on international politics.

This project addresses, among other issues, challenges to traditional concepts of security, sovereignty, and the state; the contestation of global norms; the implications of civil war and secessionism for the international system; problems of environmental governance at regional, national, and global levels; and the global distribution of poverty.

In a series of three collaborative writing retreats with participants from each university, including established researchers and post-docs, this project aims to offer fresh perspectives on international theory.
