Applying abroad
Whether you want to spend a semester abroad, are looking for an internship or a permanent job abroad, it is very important to apply correctly. The application process is generally similar in different countries. However, there are small differences that can still play a major role. If you are applying for a job abroad, you should find out about the application standards in the target country so that your application is not rejected due to purely formal errors.
General rules for the application
The application documents consist of at least a cover letter and a CV. You can find a brief overview of which documents are usually included in an application in which country at Europass. You should start gathering information about the host country at least one year before your stay abroad.

The European Commission has a network of EURES advisors (European Employment Service). They are based at the Federal Employment Agency and answer questions about application formalities, social security and the residence regulations of your future host country. EURES staff have access to two databases: the SIS system of the employment offices with job vacancies from all over Europe and a database with information on the individual countries. You can search for EURES advisers in your city here: ec.europa.eu
