Applying abroad
Whether you want to spend a semester abroad, are looking for an internship or a permanent job abroad, it is important to find out about the application standards in the destination country.
General rules for the application
Unless otherwise stated, the application documents consist of at least a cover letter and a CV. You can find a brief overview of which documents are usually included in an application in which country at Europass. You should start gathering information about the host country at least one year before your stay abroad.
You can find detailed information here:
The European Commission has a network of EURES advisors (European Employment Service). They are based at the Federal Employment Agency and answer questions about application formalities, social security and the residence regulations of your future host country. The EURES staff have access to two databases: the SIS system of the employment offices with job vacancies from all over Europe and a database with information on the individual countries. You can search for EURES advisers in your city here: ec.europa.eu.
