- We are excited to announce the following guests.
Dina Gericke from the HR department of the UHH will host a session on: Should I Stay or Should I Go? Planning Your Career In or Outside Academia!
As doctoral researchers you may find to ask yourself the question: When should I start thinking about my career after my dissertation? And how do I even start thinking about it? We will discuss these questions and you will receive information about services the University offers for you regarding your career development.
Jan Kochanowski from the UHH Welcome Service will host a session on: Getting to know two service facilities that intend to make your life in Hamburg easier and more enjoyable: the Welcome Service for International Researchers and PIASTA.
Discuss everyday practical topics and how to deal with administrative issues such as residence permit applications with the UHH’s Welcome Service. Discover your platform for intercultural life and learning at Universität Hamburg: PIASTA.
Dr. Stefan Thiemann from Center for Sustainable Research Data Management, UHH will host a session on: Research Data Management, Research Information System and Open Science.
The workshop will provide insights into the topics of research data management, the purpose of the research information system, and Open Science, and will present the infrastructure available at UHH. The research data generated in projects must be documented and securely stored, and should be published in an easily findable manner at the end of the project. The research information system collects publications, activities, and other research meta-information and serves to present and report the research output that is generated at UHH. Open Access, Open Data and as an overarching theme Open Science are expected by funders, policy makers and society. However, implementing this into practice is not always easy. Therefore, the Center for Sustainable Research Management offers advice, workshops and tools. Don't hesitate to contact us.
