Digital Placement Test
What you need to know before taking our Digital Placement Exam
The tests consist of multiple choice questions on grammar and vocabulary as well as reading comprehension. The English test also contains a listening comprehension part. The exam tests your general language skills, so there is no possibility to prepare.
You may take the test for each language once per semester. Attempts to retake the test are not allowed and will not be counted.
So please make sure before you start the test that you have the time required to complete it and that there will not be any disturbances while you are taking the test. You have 1 hour and 5 minutes for English; the Spanish and French tests each have a timer set for 30 minutes.
Please keep an eye on the timer (top left) and answer all the questions in this time frame. There is enough time to answer all questions. Unanswered questions are included in the overall assessment.
It is possible to skip individual questions and answer them later, but please watch the time when you do so. Answers, once given and saved, can not be changed again.
You do not need to send us the results. They are saved in OpenOLAT from where we will export them. Once you have taken the test and determined your language level, please register directly in STiNE (registration is only possible during the registration phases). You will not receive any additional notification from us.
