This event takes place in German.
Do you want to use your research skills to further develop your teaching? Would you like your commitment to teaching to be reflected in your publication list? Are you looking for an exchange about teaching and learning that goes beyond simply sharing experiences? Then this workshop is right for you. Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) is the scholarly engagement of educators with their own teaching and the learning of students. Educators who are active in SoTL:
• pose questions about their teaching,
• apply (either well-known or newly learned) research methods to develop individual materials or entire modules and to gain insights,
• thereby gain new perspectives on teaching-learning subjects, their didactic actions, and student learning,
• share their results (from direct exchange in informal groups or at conferences to publications in international journals).
The workshop is primarily intended as an orientation and starting point: You will learn about the goals and principles of SoTL and receive an overview of various SoTL approaches. Subsequently, you will make initial considerations for your own SoTL project or further develop an already planned or existing project. The workshop is aimed equally at SoTL beginners and those who are already active in SoTL. Teams or groups wishing to pursue a research question together are also very welcome. Participation in the workshop can be used as a kickoff for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (Lehrforschung) certificate.
Two weeks before the in-person event, you will receive access to preparatory materials via email.
