This winter semester, the lectures focus on current challenges. In a series on dealing personally with external threats, for example, anthropological psychiatry is focusing on the psychological meaning of “crises.” The lecture “Moderne Stadtgeschichte(n) schreiben” offered by the Research Center for Contemporary History in Hamburg (FZH) plumbs historical inquiries and social challenges by looking at individual cities.
In cooperation with the Institute for the History of the German Jews, the Academy of World Religions is organizing an online lecture series on training religion teachers in the fields of Jewish education and antisemitism awareness. The series Gendering Knowledge: Körper und Embodiment looks at the mutual dependency and contingency of gender and knowledge in language, literature, art, and the media—this time, with a special focus on the body and the phenomena of embodiment.
Many other departments, such the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Physics, will also be offering exciting talks, for example “Materialdesign auf der Nanoskala—Winzige Strukturen mit Megawirkung!“ and “Physik im Alltag.“
All lectures are free and you do not need to sign up.
See the Center for Continuing Education (ZfW) pages for the complete program and any last-minute changes.
