Prof. Dr. Hauke Heekeren, president of Universität Hamburg: “The development of the Deutschlandstipendium at Universität Hamburg is impressive, and it is more than just a scholarship: it is an instrument of social commitment and contributes to forging links between us as a flagship university and the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. Opening to the general public is a central goal, and the scholarship contributes significantly to the sustainability of our society by supporting talented young people and, thus, educating the specialists of tomorrow. I would like to express my gratitude to all the sponsors, because thanks to them, the program now has €1 million.
All visitors to the event are also invited to shape a pop-up exhibition: Zeitreise des aufWACHSENs will compile photos of milestones in individuals’ educational biographies. Whether it’s a proud pose with a Schultüte on the first day of school or the moment of relief when being presented with the doctorate certificate, all contributions are welcome.
