Prof. Dr. Susanne Rupp (vice president for studies and teaching) and Prof. Dr. Jan Louis (vice president for research) have been in office since 2013 and 2016 respectively and will remain in office until 30 September. Prof. Filatkina and Prof. Böhrmann will take up their offices on 1 October 2023.

Vice president for knowledge exchange, careers, and equal opportunity
Prof. Dr. Jetta Frost has been a professor of organization and corporate leadership in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences since 2005 and does research on, among other things, innovative organizational forms and university governance. The vice president is responsible for further developing and establishing knowledge exchange, the University’s third dimension, in cooperation with the faculties and the Knowledge Exchange Agency. Her responsibilities also cover the strategic development of academic staff, especially academic and research career paths; equal opportunity, diversity, work and family compatibility; and support for doctoral and early career researchers.
Vice president for studies and teaching
Prof. Dr. Natalia Filatkina is a professor of German linguistics in the Faculty of Humanities and has been at the University since 2020. Prior to that, she worked at the University of Trier and The Academic of Sciences and Literature in Mainz. Her research focuses on (digital) historical linguistics, language transformation, language history in the culture of communication, European multilingualism, and foreign language teaching in the Early Modern Period. The vice president is responsible for all areas of study and teaching and academic and university continuing education. This includes teaching training, quality assurance, accreditation, the studies and information network STiNE, and e-learning.
Vice president for research
Prof. Dr. Tilo Böhmann is head of the IT management and consulting research group in the Department of Informatics (Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences). His research focuses on service systems engineering and IT management. Furthermore, he was a co-initiator of the cooperation between informatics, ethics, and law in the area of information governance technologies. From 2014 to 2018, he was the head of the Department of Informatics at Universität Hamburg. The vice president oversees the strategic support and development of research at Universität Hamburg. He is also responsible for research infrastructure and information supply (libraries).
