Orientation
Welcome to Universität Hamburg!
You can start your studies as soon as your enrollment has been confirmed. The Campus, however, is big, the abbreviations in the course catalog can be confusing, and your first-semester course schedule has yet to be finalized . . .
In order to help you settle in quickly and easily, the University offers all first-year students one or several weeks of orientation activities (Orientierungseinheiten, OE) prior to the lecture period. In addition to learning to navigate the University, you can also find out about how your program is organized.
Please note:
You can find exact dates and times for information sessions in your subject area or department on the German version of this page, as well as information about preparatory courses offered by the respective department. For important dates and times for your program, please consult the webpages of the Faculty offering your program.
If you cannot find exact times or room numbers for your program, please be patient. This information will be published here as soon as it is available.
At any rate, please check this page before orientation activities begin, as times and room numbers may change at short notice.
Student council (AStA) and PIASTA (Intercultural Living and Learning) offer various inter-faculty and interdisciplinary orientation activities.
