With the cross-university project Study on Co-Benefits of Low Carbon Energy Transition in China and Germany, Universität Hamburg and Fudan University in Shanghai have successfully acquired funding from the Sino-German Center for Research Promotion in Beijing.
The project is being headed jointly by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Scheffran (geography, Universität Hamburg) and Prof. Dr. JIAN Ping (Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Fudan University). In the next 3 years, they will develop practical measures to foster CO2-saving environmental policies.
The funding is earmarked primarily to support mobility. The project is set to begin on 1 January 2020.
The Sino-German Center is a joint research funding institution of the German Research Foundation and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. It is considered one of the most renowned German-Chinese institutions.
The project is a continuation of the partnership project funded (until the end of 2020) by the German Academic Exchange Service within the framework of the MQ-FU-HAM trilateral strategic network.
