Studying digitally

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Summer Semester 2021 at University of Hamburg will primarily take place in digital form. Only a small number of courses can be held in person. This means that you, the students, will have to study online most of the time.

We have put the most important information for you on this page to help you get started with the digital semester. It tells you how to register for courses online using the STiNE system, which video conference software you can use, how the digital teaching platforms of University of Hamburg work and answers many other question you may have. The Instructions section contains handouts explaining how to do certain things you will to do need during your studies, such as creating PDF files. It also contains a little guide to the strategies, learning formats and virtues that will help you prepare mentally, keep on top of the digital semester, and study online successfully. We have also listed some helpful external servicesand put together a general  collection of links for you.
