Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The UN SDGs are a comprehensive approach to ameliorating climate change and fighting poverty, hunger, and inequality around the globe. There are 17 main goals and 169 subordinate goals toward a good life for all human beings. Most SDGs aim for 2030, although a few should be achieved earlier.
The 17 SDGs are of equal value but some depend on others: Societies survive only if their environments are intact, which is why it is especially important to conserve natural resources and habitats. Likewise, institutions and corporations can survive only in healthy societies. Business, on the other hand, depends on a functioning society with healthy, prosperous customers and staff. This is why we see the SDG in the wedding cake model depicted here.
