Joint Career Days 2025

The Joint Career Days 2025 are coming up on January 21st and 22nd, 2025, and we invite all doctoral and postdoctoral researchers in the natural sciences at the University of Hamburg, DESY, IMPRS-ESM and IMPRS-UFAST to participate in this exciting event.

This two-day event, held at Betahaus Hamburg (Schanzenviertel), offers a unique opportunity to network, explore career paths, and gain valuable insights into the job market.

Day 1 – January 21, 2025 (on-site): The day will kick off with inspiring keynote talks focused on career opportunities for natural scientists both within and beyond academia. You will also have the chance to participate in 18 small-group discussion rounds with alumni. In these intimate sessions (max. 10 participants), alumni will share their professional journeys and provide insights into their career transitions and entry points in a relaxed and informal setting. The participants of our career day are successful professionals from industry, science management, public service, data science, media, business and NGOs (Airbus, Vattenfall, Philips, World Bank, German Aerospace Center, Deloitte, PwC and many more).

Day 2 – January 22, 2025 (online): On the second day, take advantage of online CV checks, personalized career coaching, and expert advice on securing third-party funding.

Registration is open from December 12, 2024, to January 12, 2025.

This event is a joint initiative by MINGZ, IMPRS-ESM, IMPRS-UFAST, SICSS, QU, CUI, and the PIER Helmholtz Graduate School.
