Eligibility

All international academics, scholarship holders, postdoctoral researchers, and doctoral researchers at the University of Hamburg are welcome.

Advising

If you do not know exactly what you wish to learn, just contact us for an informal chat. Together, we will determine your language needs and discuss the various options. If desired, you can also take a placement test.

Courses and workshops

We offer regular courses and workshops, for example, on the following topics:

• academic writing
• presenting and moderating
• day-to-day communication at university (e.g., writing emails, telephoning, making small talk)

Upon request, we also design courses for the faculties and institutes.

Individual language learning

Would you like to learn German or English individually or prepare for a specific situation (e.g., a talk)? We are happy to make an offer for individual training or coaching.
