To create courses, you need author rights. If you do not have author rights, please contact support.
Here's how to proceed
➊ Open the author area (at the top).
- In the submenu, you will find the search mask.
➋ Click on the search mask and search for "Course Template."
- In the list, you will find the courses "Course Template Title of the Event (Sample)" and "Course Template with Notification Title of the Event (Sample)."
- With the notification component integrated into the aforementioned second course, you can automatically send messages to your students (see the course component "Notifications").
➌ Click on the title of the desired course template.
➍ Under Administration, select the option to Copy.
➎ Enter the title of the event and click on Copy.
- Do not use umlauts and avoid all special characters except for (), /\,-_. For clarity, use the following format: Title_ possibly Program_ (Your Last Name) Example: Marketing WI (Huebner). In the information page that opens, you can specify the metadata: e.g., change the description, as well as present the learning objectives, prerequisites, and certification.
➏ In the Execution Period section, select the desired semester under Semester to display the current status of the course in the catalog and save your input at the bottom of the page.
➐ Now click on Administration and Course Editor.
➑ Change the Short Title and, if necessary, the Title in the top course element.
- You can also add more components in the course editor.
➒ Publish your changes (top right), click on Next, and select the appropriate option under the Course Access tab for Organization Participants: Private, Bookable, or Open. For more information on this, see here. In the next step, when creating the catalog entry, the course should be added to the catalog if it is to be findable by others. For this, you need to click on the button "Add to Catalog" on the right and select the desired area where the course should be listed.
- To ensure that your materials placed in the course are accessible only to authorized participants of the event (see UrhWissG §60), we recommend setting a time-limited booking method or course enrollment for course access. Another alternative is to set the course access to "Only members of this learning resource (owner, supervisor, participants)" and manually enroll the students through member management (see HelpCard 20-020).
